Description
"The most important thing for me is to be a link in the chain of folk singers before and after my time," says Trapper Schoepp, referring to his fifth album, *Siren Songs*. Recorded at Johnny Cash’s Cash Cabin in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
In 2019, the singer-songwriter from Milwaukee released a long-forgotten Bob Dylan co-written song called “On, Wisconsin” — making him the youngest musician to share a co-writing credit with the Nobel laureate. The song sparked a feature in *Rolling Stone* and led to over a hundred tour dates worldwide. Trapper creates music that exists in its own universe. Often mistakenly labeled as Americana, what he really does is a kind of power pop that ultimately results in songs that could just as well be signed by Tom Petty.
Many eagerly await his rawest work yet, titled *Osborne*, set to be released in 2025, featuring many powerful tracks that the audience will of course get to hear this evening. But perhaps his strongest asset is his charisma and that effortless stage presence. He really should come with a warning label: “addictive.” Once you’ve seen or heard him live, you’re hooked!
