Description
Osteology is the study of bones - the skeleton of both humans and animals. In osteology, the structure, function and development of bones are studied, as well as how they can be used to draw conclusions about our history. It is a subject that is often intertwined with archaeology, where bone material from excavations is analyzed to gain knowledge about earlier time periods.
