Description
The lecture will be held in Swedish.
The relationship between Sweden and Russia has changed throughout history. From curiosity (how strange those Russians are) to contempt (they are foolish and easy to defeat), and finally to fear ("help, the Russians are coming!").
Dick Harrison, a well-known author and professor of history, will lecture on how this relationship has influenced our politics and our self-image from the 16th century to the emergence of our democracy and institutions around the turn of the 20th century.
