Laurie started playing guitar at age 14 and moved to London at 19. He worked hard to hone his songwriting skills and now has over 300 songs to his name.

Laurie’s band formed in 2020, beginning as street musicians in Camden, and within two years had built an impressive loyal fanbase. Their debut album, Get On The End Of It (2023), was followed by a sold-out show at Camden Underworld. The album spawned tracks like “West End Lover,” “Butter Side Up Boy,” and “Wendy McKenzie,” establishing Laurie as a creator of songs that are both powerful and heartfelt, with a strong sense of storytelling reminiscent of his major musical influences, The Kinks and The Small Faces.

In 2024, the fanbase grew as they wrote and recorded their second album, while touring sold-out regional shows across the UK in spring, supporting The Rifles and The Libertines — both key influences for Laurie. Laurie and the band kept sharpening their live performances, joining legendary street musicians with a full band on the bustling streets of Camden Town and around London.

We’re Only Warming Up, their sophomore album, was released in the fall. The album built on Laurie’s innate storytelling and songwriting, capturing the subtle nuances of his music with brilliantly crafted songs featuring guitar riffs radiating both high energy and authority, combined with melodic and harmonic power that leaves you wanting more.

The band’s relentless drive to climb the music scene’s ranks came to fruition in November with an electrifying show at Scala in Kings Cross, performing to a roaring crowd of 800. A week later, Laurie and the band embarked on a successful, sold-out 4,800 km European tour with 14 dates, ending 2024 on a triumphant note. 2025 promises to be an even bigger year for Laurie and the band!
