Description
The illegal trade in medicines is estimated to generate more revenue than the illegal drug trade. People risk their health and sometimes their lives when unknowingly using counterfeit medicines or medicines that do not meet quality standards. Over 90% of websites claiming to be pharmacies and selling medicines lack the required licenses. Counterfeit medicines pose a risk to both individuals and society, with the danger of ineffective or toxic effects.
This lecture provides an overview of the issues surrounding counterfeit medicines and how to safely enjoy the benefits of online purchasing without risking your health.
The speaker is a clinical pharmacist at Trelleborg Hospital and a PhD candidate at Lund University.
