Description

In 1988, archaeologists discovered traces of a Viking Age ring fortress in the heart of Trelleborg. At last, the city's name had a clear explanation. A few years later, the excavation site was transformed into an open-air archaeological museum. In June 1995, the reconstructed fortress was officially opened. Since then, the Viking Age has been brought to life, attracting thousands of schoolchildren and visitors to the site. Today, the Viking Museum is one of Trelleborg’s most popular attractions.

To mark the occasion, we’re serving plenty of cake at the Viking Museum’s café — free for everyone until it’s all gone. Feel free to take your cake out into the area and mingle.

Program in the Amphitheatre (outdoors):

Break

14:00 – Sigrid and the Dragon
A family performance with national folk musician Anna Rynefors.
Sigrid and the Dragon is the timeless tale originally about Sigurd the Dragon Slayer, told for over 1,000 years! We learn that you can do almost anything if you just dare to try — and that you should never wake a sleeping dragon! In this interactive show, children help move the story forward through rhythm, music, and song, using exciting musical instruments.

Free admission all day. Drop-in!
The Viking Museum is open until 16:00.

Program subject to change.
